WHO WE ARE
The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is the US Navy/Coast Guard's youth leadership development program for 10- to 18-year-olds, is a federally-chartered outside school activity, created by a US Congress mandate.
Based at the Washington Navy Yard in the nation's capital, the Henry E. Mooberry Division, is named after its founding Commanding Officer, and is one of USNSCC's oldest Units for 13- to 18-year-olds.
The McCain Training Ship, named after Adm. John S. McCain, is part of the Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC), USNSCC's branch for 10- to 13-year-olds.
USNSCC is a non-profit (IRS Section 501(c)(3)) civilian, educational organization, sponsored by the US Navy and Coast Guard, and supported by the Navy League of the United States and its National Capital Council.
The organization is run mainly by retired and active-duty military personnel and other volunteers.
