Sea Bag List

(As of 11 JUL 10 – Corrected NLCC Dress Uniform)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

(1) – All gear must fit in Sea Bag, Sleeping Bag duffle or other carrying bag and Garment Bag. No other bag/luggage is authorized for use by cadets due to lack of storage. Adults may stow additional bags/luggage/gear in their personal or rental vehicles if driving them to the AT.

(2) – All personnel must carry their own gear to and from training and berthing locations, located a fair distance from each other. All gear must be removed from the berthing area each morning and brought to the training area, where it can be stowed. There is no stowage of gear permitted in the berthing area. Gear left adrift will be disposed of during sweepers each morning. Carry only what is required (below) and any extra items that you can safely and easily carry, if desired.

(3) – Exceptions to this list may be made for genuine hardships or extenuating circumstances, if contact is made with, and agreement is reached with the COTC, prior to arrival at the AT. Without pre-AT agreement, failure to report with items listed as “required,” will result in cancellation of the AT orders and being sent home at personal expense, unless the missing items can be obtained locally or arrive at the AT from home no later than 23 JUL 10.

(4) – To wear a modified version of the Navy uniform – All uniformed Midshipmen and Officers are required to comply with the NSCC published height/weight standards, to appropriately reflect the respect for our country’s and our Navy’s uniform.

Midshipmen and Officers not meeting the NSCC height/weight standards are NOT permitted to wear a naval uniform during this AT, they may wear the Alternate Work Uniform (NSCC Navy Blue Polo Shirt & Khaki Pants, Black shoes, belt and socks).

(5) – Midshipmen and Officers unable to meet the published NSCC height/weight standards (Section 0733, NSCC REGS) must wear the Non-Uniformed Officer and Instructor Uniform (NO Exceptions).

(8) – All gear should be properly labeled with the owner’s last name and last four digits of the social security number, in an appropriate place as specified by NSCC guidance or common sense, as applicable.

(9) – Gear left adrift will not explicitly be returned to its owner, but will be available in a “lost and found” to be claimed upon properly describing it. “Lost and found” may potentially be contributed to by some 300 other people who may leave behind some of their gear. Due to a lack of stowage space, gear left adrift and unclaimed will be disposed of during sweepers at 0600 each morning. All gear remaining unclaimed will be disposed of, with the owner forfeiting any rights to the property.

(10) – NO BDUs, weapons (of any type), illegal drugs or contraband permitted.
